The location of the cottage was idyllic and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside. We loved exploring the area and going for long walks, with plenty of footpaths and scenic routes nearby. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the warm and cozy atmosphere of the cottage, and the abundance of hot water for relaxing baths after a day of exploring. The cottage was also well equipped, making our stay comfortable and convenient.
There were a few minor drawbacks to our stay. it would have been nice to have some milk in the fridge upon our arrival, as the nearest shop was a bit of a drive away.

We had the raddest time exploring the sick hiking trails near Alston and shredding the gnar on our mountain bikes. The cottage was super cozy and had all the chill amenities we needed. The surrounding nature was totally lit, with awesome bird watching and even spotting some hedgehogs. Definitely a sick spot for an adventure-filled vacay with our crew!
If there's one thing we would've loved more of, it would be some killer party vibes. Don't get us wrong, the cottage was perfect for our outdoorsy adventures, but it would've been dope to have a wicked game room or a sick sound system for some epic parties after our gnarly adventures.

The private bathrooms in Ghyll Burn Cottage And Barn End Cottage were a major highlight for us. They have been recently updated, and we could tell. The showers were fantastic, and the over-bath shower was an added bonus. We felt like we were pampering ourselves every time we stepped into the bathroom.
Personally, I preferred the bathrooms with just showers instead of the over-bath shower.
